Privacy Policy

1. Information We Process

Depending on the features you use, RacerTime may process the following information locally on your device:

• GPS location data
• Workout and activity session data
• Apple Watch sensor information
• Motion and fitness activity data
• App preferences and settings
• Race session records and analytics
• Diagnostic and crash information provided by Apple

The App is designed to minimize data collection whenever possible.

2. Location Data

RacerTime may use GPS location data during active sessions initiated by the user, including racing, training, navigation-assistance, and workout tracking features.

Location access is only used while an active session is running or when required by watchOS workout functionality.

Location data may be used for speed calculations, distance measurements, buoy positioning, route visualization, and race analytics.

GPS accuracy may vary depending on weather conditions, signal availability, device limitations, environmental interference, or operating system behavior.

The App does not guarantee precise positioning or navigation accuracy.

3. Apple Watch and Motion Data

RacerTime may access Apple Watch and motion-related data, including movement activity, heading information, acceleration, and workout-related metrics.

This information is used exclusively to provide sports and race-related functionality.

No raw motion sensor streams are permanently stored unless required for a specific feature initiated by the user.

4. HealthKit

If authorized by the user, RacerTime may access HealthKit workout-related information for workout session integration and sports tracking features.

Health data is:

• processed only for app functionality,
• never sold,
• never shared for advertising purposes, and
• never used for marketing or data brokerage purposes.

HealthKit data is handled in accordance with Apple HealthKit guidelines.

5. Photos Access

If the user chooses to export or save race images, screenshots, or session graphics, RacerTime may request permission to add content to the user’s photo library.

The App does not access, read, or analyze existing photos in the user’s library.

6. Data Storage

RacerTime is designed primarily for local-first data storage.

Race sessions, settings, and related information are generally stored locally on the user’s device.

RacerTime currently does not operate dedicated backend servers for storing user activity data.

Some Apple-provided cloud services, such as iCloud synchronization, may be used if enabled by the user.

7. Analytics and Advertising

RacerTime:

• does not include third-party advertising SDKs,
• does not use third-party behavioral analytics platforms, and
• does not sell personal information.

Apple may independently collect certain diagnostic, subscription, or App Store analytics information under Apple’s own policies.

8. Subscription and Purchases

If the user purchases a subscription through Apple’s App Store:

• payment processing is handled entirely by Apple,
• subscription management is handled through the user’s Apple account, and
• RacerTime does not directly store payment information.

9. Data Retention

Because most data is stored locally on the user’s device, data retention is generally controlled by the user.

Information may remain stored until:

• deleted by the user,
• removed within the App, or
• deleted when the App is uninstalled.

If iCloud synchronization is enabled, some synchronized data may remain temporarily available through Apple iCloud services according to Apple’s retention policies.

10. Device and System Limitations

Certain features may vary depending on device model, Apple Watch hardware, sensor availability, operating system version, regional restrictions, or system-level limitations imposed by Apple platforms.

Some features may become unavailable if required permissions are denied.

11. International Users

RacerTime is operated from Chile.

By using the App, you acknowledge that information processed locally on your device may be subject to the laws and regulations of your jurisdiction.

12. Children's Privacy

RacerTime is not directed toward children under the age required by applicable laws in their jurisdiction.

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.

Any updates will be published on the official RacerTime legal pages with an updated revision date.

Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
